A Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) emerges to breathe.

The Easterly winds are back and make our way out a bit more adventurous. After a rain front passes by, we are all set to go.

The motto is: “it is almost sunny!”

Thanks to the amazing work of our “vigias” (aka: land spotters), Filipe and Andre’, we have the chance to find a group of Common Dolphins (Delphinus delphis). Some individuals are often swimming belly-to-belly in the waves next to Terra Azul boat, a behavior that generally indicates mating activity.

Later on we are back to our search, time to look for a blow. After a patient scan, a sub-adult Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) finally makes its appearance next to our boat. After a few breathing cycles, the whale slowly submerges and keeps travelling to the East.

Guess what: the sun is shining.
