Papa Noël should have used dolphins instead of reindeers !

What a nice morning !

We left ready with no previous knowledge of what awaited us; We sighted a lot of different species.
Four different species to be exact.

We started out by sighting two very scared adult Risso’s dolphins (Grampus griseus). The animals were interested in squid not really in us. They were focused on feeding so they did not stay at surface a long time.

We continued 15 nautical miles and found 4 sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus), these majestic animals always leave us gasping at their diving bodies. Here is a picture of this morning tour. Just for you guys to enjoy.

 

 

We were heading back and on the way we found 6 Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). These little cuties never tire us, we love to see our spotties every day off the week.

Navigating again on the way to the island of Villa Franca do Campo, before heading back to our marina we spotted a pod of common dolphins (Delphinus delphis).

Short version of the facts, we had so much fun today and sighted many species.

Then again who needs red nosed reindeers when you have dolphins. 😉
