Jump jump!

Hello lovely people,

The last two days we had some wonderful sightings of Bottlenose Dolphins, Sperm Whales, Risso’s and Common Dolphins.

Every day is different and it’s so amazing to see how the animals have their peculiar behaviours.

The Bottlenose Dolphins  we saw yesterday for example, were very active and playful. Of course it’s always a joy to see them, whatever mood they are in. But when they show us  their acrobatical aerial stunts, the only thing you want is to make jumps to (luckily no man overboard 🙂 ).

They made spins, somersaults, combinations of flips, head twists, and so on. These leaps are usually associated with a high level of social activitiy in a pod. This was evidenced by whistling and other sounds we could clearly hear with our hydrophone.

 

 

Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it…
