Repainting our whaling boat, to let her sail again!

Senhora da Fátima was built in 1945 in São Miguel Island. After its transformation from “Whaling boat” to “Sailing boat”, it was given a second life (check here to see a video about how it was done).

However, as she is docked in our marina on most days, she needs a repainting job every now and then. Of course, we try to sail her as often as possible to re-live this cultural experience, except, it is all about SAILING these days, not whaling!

On the way to the marina.

Old material will be scraped off, for a new layer of paint to take place. Soon she will be right next to Terra Azul’s base, in the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo, back in the water. If you are interested to know when she will be sailed, ask a couple of days ahead, and we will take you 🙂
