Easter Bunny? Easter Blue Whale you mean!

Happy easter, world! However…forget easter bunny this year, we are talking about the Blue Whale today!

For Terra Azul it was the first Blue Whale of our 2017 season!! And it wasn’t an easy one. At the 9h trip we went back and forth for 2,5 hours to find a Fin Whale and Blue Whale that blowed each time just when we were not at the exact place. It was seeming impossible to get to the whales – even though Filipe our lookout already spotted them many times so it was very frustrating.

Finally finally…after the 2,5 hour trip was coming to an end…we found a large Blue Whale blowing, showing off her back, and migrating towards the East. She came up several times divided over 2 shallow water dives. What a giant….the largest one ever measured is upto 33 meters but this one must have been 25 meters or more…

At 13h we saw a Humpback Whale! Keep an eye out for more trips 🙂
