Hello everyone,

Today we were lucky to encounter 5 different cetacean species!

In the morning tour we started with a family of 4 Sperm Whales (Physeter macrocephalus). When we arrived the ‘whale zone’ the adult Sperm Whale went diving. The 3 juveniles remained at the surface. Suddenly one of them started to breach. What an astonishing moment! For the guests who were to late to take a picture of this spectacle, nothing to worry. The whale breached at least 9 more times! 🙂

After this we moved on to two Sei Whales (Balaenoptera borealis). As these species are migratory, it’s always a surprise to encounter them in summer time. They appeared to be feeding or looking for food. They were calmly swimming and going for short dives.

The morning ended with a big pod of Common Dolphins (Delphinis delphis).

In the afternoon tours our guests were also lucky to encounter a travelling pod of Striped Dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba), Sperm Whales with again one of them breaching (Physeter macrocephalus) and Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) interacting with Risso’s Dolphins (Grampus griseus).
