Sunny days were shining on our beautiful marina. The perfect opportunity in order to get down and dirty !!!
Our team volunteered to help our Azorean Picasso’s to paint the wave breaker walls that protect our marina.

You may think that these are just young kids who embarked in an art project but there is more to this story. The teenage kids from our village high school “Escola Básica e Secundária Armando Côrtes-Rodrigues ” won a grant because of the project that was presented by them to the Azorean council.

The subject of this project is the protection of our oceans. We are proud to participate with such young bright students.

Blue whale at the marina of Villa Franca do Campo

Not only did they designed very beautiful sketches and are at the marina every single time there is nice weather in order to paint and deliver the message, but they are also aware on how we need to take action and care for our oceans.

So next time you are in the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo, whether it may be to eat and ice cream or to pay us a visit, just make sure you admire the fantastic graffiti of these young artists.

“Não sujes o mar “- Do not pollute the sea.

We are proud of our younger generations that seek every opportunity to give back to their community.
