Today is the World Environment Day and we are grateful to mother nature for this pleasant morning on the sea! We were excited to spend time with a group of 6 fin whales, adults and calves, accompanied by… a blue whale!! They were probably feeding as we saw an orange patch of poo at the surface.

We should keep in mind that there is a lot of plastic trashes in the ocean and it is one of the primary threat for marine wildlife, besides fishing nets and overfishing. For example, plastic bags look like jellyfish in the ocean, so sea turtles and marine mammals are eating them by mistake. Frequently, scientists find stranded animals with plastic in their stomach and intestines. It is very important to recycle as often as you can, and of course, to put your waste in a dustbin. On the way back, we were able to observe a large and spread out group of bottlenose dolphins, active at the surface and enjoying bubbles around our engines 🙂
