Our morning at the marina started with a feeble sun followed by a light shower rain, but then the sun  got stronger and warmer raising our hope that the day would eventually stay really good. As we are in the Azores we should not forget that the impermanence of weather is constantly on action 😉  and here we go some more drizzle and sun playing hide and seek. We were anyway very lucky today as the strong winds slowed down a lot offering us a break and the chance to go out at sea.

So, armed with an excited smile we headed towards the vast blue. There, lots of common dolphins were either socializing or feeding. We eventually stayed with three different groups, all including mostly adults and some juveniles. In various occasions the dolphins were approaching us, turning sideway at the bow of the boat while exploiting the hydrodynamics created by the vessel. They seemed very curious today, hanging around for some time and allowing us to take good pictures or to just appreciate their beauty. The Cory’s shearwaters were also present in larger numbers, they are starting to mark their presence for this upcoming season!

At the end of the tour we visited our little favourite islet, the Ilhéu of Vila Franca do Campo and came back with a satisfied smile 😀
