Sperm Whales my friend – Are blowin’ in the wind!

Inspired by Bob Dylan song today our sperm whales friends were blowing in the wind. The southern breeze was catching their blows and carrying them a long way. Also the crests of the waves were disrupted by the wind, and sometimes resulting in some powerful splash inside our boat.

The group of about six individuals was split in few pairs not far from each others and they were likely resting. One individual rolled once close to the surface so as to expose half of its tail out of the water. The same happened with its head, briefly exposed showing its blowhole. However, most of the time they were staying underwater and were coming up once in a while to breath.

The day couldn’t be a happy one without our beautiful common dolphins. It was a spread out group, quite active and in a socialising mood 🙂
