Nice morning today with many sperm whales not far from the southeastern coast of São Miguel. Some were socialising turning sideway and spy-hopping others were more relaxed. There were also few calves and at least one juvenile. After enjoying the sight of their powerful blows and bodies at the surface, we moved offshore to meet the short-finned pilot whales. The group was spread out and included all in all about 20 individuals. They were all logging and, as usual, we turned off the boat engine to listen to their synchronised breathing. Nature is beautiful! 😀
