Spotted Dolphins show all day!

Today was another day with perfect sea conditions – flat and warm….very warm! Although we sighted 5 species: Risso’s Dolphins, Striped Dolphins, Common Dolphins, Atlantic Spotted Dolphins and a glimpse of breaching Beaked Whales….today the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin stole the show – ALL DAY!

TA 1
On the 9h, 13h and 16h tour they all showed up in very large groups of 100 to 200, and other than that, they wouldn’t stop jumping out near the boat. Each time we would move away the whole group would follow us with huge jumps. See the photos for some impressions.

TA 2
Because we also sighted Striped Dolphins – who are even more famous for their ongoing migrations and jumps – there was some confusion from far away….but no….it really were the Spotties giving us their best. Defenitely no lazy sunday for our little friends this time 🙂
