Today was the day for the whales to take a day off and for our resident dolphins to put up a show! 😀

In the morning, a large group of Risso’s dolphins was feeling particularly curious and came to play and rest around the boat. This species is usually quite shy so it’s always great when they come close to us like this 😀

The rest of morning and afternoon was spent with very active groups of Common dolphins and Bottlenose dolphins. The groups of Common dolphins seen today were quite big – between 30 and 50 individuals – and spent the time we were together travelling in a tight formation or playing with each other close to our boat 😀

The Bottlenose dolphins are usually very calm as well, but today we met huge groups of 70-80 individuals that came very close to the boat and put up an amazing show! Slapping their tails with the belly up, jumping and chasing the boats when we left, they amazed everyone on board 😀
