Today was mostly spent in the company of some very sleepy Fin whales! We met the first whale right after lunch and the siesta lasted until our late afternoon trip. On the last trip the whale got some company and the 2 very calm Fin whales came very very close to our boat and stayed at the surface most of the time.

This gave us a great opportunity to see very well one of the main identifying characteristics of Fin whales: the asymmetric coloration of the lower jaw! These whales have the left half of their lower jaw of a brownish grey and the right side white 🙂

We also met a huge and very active group of Atlantic Spotted dolphins in all of our tours

Especially in the last tour they decided to put up a show with very sudden and high leaps! Some of them did it very close to the boat and for a second we thought they wanted a ride to land 😉

The day also included some lovely groups of common dolphins with whom we had a couple Swimming with Dolphins tours, sperm whales and a big group of very relaxed bottlenose dolphins 😀

Keep posted for more news of our tours!! 🙂
