A monument to never forget

Winter is approaching and a wooden boat needs extreme care to withstand the elements…and the age! It is the case of our historical Azorean whaling boat, or ‘bote’ in Azorean, that we just took on shore for maintenance. It has been rebuilt from the original 1946 vessel and now stands in our Marina or at sea, sailing or rowing, as a monument to the old whaling times.

This video document all the hard work and the skilled craftsmanship required to bring this beauty back from oblivion.
