Today we would like to express our congratulations to Terra Azul Science&Tech Director Lorenzo for the successful completion of his PhD with Auckland University of Technology! 😀 😀 😀
He spent four years studying how to use Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) – also referred to as drones – for whale and dolphin behavioral studies and investigating the effects of swim-with-whales tourism activities on the behavior of Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) in the remote archipelago of Vava’u, in the Kingdom of Tonga.
You can find his published contributions to the scientific community and the public in peer reviewed journals such as Remote Sensing, Marine Mammal Science, PLoSONE, Scientific Reports and Aquatic Mammals.
