Glimpsing into Common Dolphin morning routine

Good morning everybody!

Today we had the chance to get out on the Ocean again and we spent a nice morning in company of several groups of Common Dolphins (Delphinus delphis) busy in their morning routine activities. While some subgroups of adults were resting, a large family group was feeding on patches of small schooling fish. Suddenly juveniles started socializing and chasing each other at high speed. Other groups of adults were also involved in mating attempts, as you can witness in the footage that Terra Azul drone collected. They even swam through a huge school of fish without even paying attention to them. Sometimes it is a matter of priorities! 🙂

While searching for dolphins, we stumbled across a very relaxed juvenile Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta) that swam alongside the boat for about ten minutes, before to dive back in the depths of the Ocean.
