Sounds of the Sky in Vila Franca do Campo

If ever you visit our beautiful town, you might appreciate the lovely islet that one can see from the coast, and you might enjoy as well the relaxing beach of Vinha da Areia.

But if you pay close attention you might hear, while eating an ice-cream or drinking a coffee in the town’s central garden the beautiful bells of the tower of Matriz da Vila Franca do Campo and the City Hall’s mechanical clock.

 

This tower is the guardian of a  majestic mechanical clock system that allows you to experience the harmonious sound of the bells.

Our beautiful lookout girl Nicole, got a sneak peak of the clock and shared the photos of her tour while exploring more of our beautiful town.

 

The bells of the church play when major events take place in the festivities of the village.

So next time you are in Vila Franca drop make sure you enjoy the famous ice-cream and listen carefully to the music that the bells play.
