The Ocean is an amazing place, there is no doubt about it !

Today there is a storm hitting the Sāo Miguel coastlines, the storm will pass soon. But the same as us animals take precautions.

Because of the storm the Sperm Whales were socializing and gathering to swim to other parts of the Archipielago. No panic they will come back!!!

But when there is a storm cetaceans swim to calmer waters. Yesterday a group of four Sperm Whales (Physeter macrocephalus) gathered together. We arrived just in time to observe them socializing. There is not a lot to describe about this trip because it was very impressive to observe a big male jumping out of the water and getting curious with our boat in order then to change direction and swim away.

We heard the other three Sperm Whales underwater with the hydrophone so there is no other words to write but please make sure you listen to the audio, because the “cliks” these animals were vocalizing are OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!!

Enjoy guys !!!!
