For the past 3 months our oldest but most beloved boat TAII got completely renovated and we wanted to share the process and final result with you, as she got out of the water this week!
TAII (Short for Terra Azul II) is a 12 seat SEA RIB boat that has taken more then 50.000 of our guests to the ocean since 2006. She was an old but still very well working lady, that needed an upgrade, and that’s exactly what she got!
Our hard working crew Nuno, Filipe, Andre and Tiago (skippers and lookouts) gave our girl a complete painting job, the gas deposit was fixed and cleaned, she got new ropes, grab handles and seats, cracks are no longer there and she looks a little more like her twin sister TAI now, due to the new black paint on the yellow rubber, that used to be grey.
The real reason for all this maintenance is because although she is a bit old, she is with us since the first years that TERRA AZUL started to operate regularly, so it was very much worth it to preserve her. On top of that, it is much more environmental and everything-friendly to re-use the materials that could be made new again. The result is done, and she looks beautiful but still with the same spirit as she was before. Now we are all excited to keep enjoying her and spot some Azorean oceanlife together with you 🙂
