As a New Member of the Terra Azul team, it’s maybe nice to Introduce Myself. My name is Arno Snellenberg and I am a Dutch Native. I fell in Love with the Azores and in Particular the Island of Sao Miguel during my time here in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
I have a background in Tourism. I have been working in Turkey, Greece, Spain, Gambia, Nepal and Lapland. My interest always laid in sustainable and Eco tourism. Also during my traveling in Asia and Africa I always valued certain principles as very important.
For example, we managed to give clients proper education about animal welfare in Nepal, where the Elephants are being used for Tourist rides. We advised guests not to take these Rides but to Contribute in another, Sustainable way to the Local Communities!
Also on the Azores we always kept in mind that those Beautiful Mammals in the Atlantic should be cherished. Strict Regulations and Proper Eduction to the Clients and Visitors is Crucial to maintain their way of Life! We always have to realize that we are Visitors in their Home!
I am really looking forward to Participate in the Wonderful World of Terra Azul! Most of the time you will Find me in the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo or in one of the Hotels/ Accommodations. Do not hesitate to ask me any questions!! I really hope to see you all on one of the amazing trips of Terra Azul!!
