Smooth seas with dolphins and sperm whales!

It is soooo good to go out to the smooth sea in the morning light! It completely sets you in a relaxed mood for the rest of the day 🙂

After a false start with a group of Common dolphins that decided to disappear we reached them, we set out to find the next dolphin group. A very big group of about 70 Bottlenose dolphins was calmly travelling close together, while some of them were playing with each other.

While some individuals were coming close to the boat, 4 or 5 of them were too busy chasing each other. One of them was even slapping its tail with the belly up!

While with the dolphins, we got the message that a couple of Sperm whales were about to come up from their long dives – so off we went! And we got there just in time: the two adult females were just back from their snack and resting to dive again. After everyone had a great look at the they showed us their beautiful tails as they were going to find more squid!
