This morning our whale watchers were inn for a surprise.
We navigated 20 miles off the coast, the sky was slowing becoming greyer and greyer. There is nothing one can really do in Azores regarding weather. I always say the best thing to do is to plan your day regarding of weather conditions and just do what you feel like doing, have always a jacket with you and you will be safe. So with sunny weather at the base we headed out to sea, right in the middle point, between Santa Maria and Sao Miguel. We found there two mothers with their two calfs nursing from them.
The scene was magnificent!!! We returned to the shore were a group of Risso’s dolphins were keeping our whalewatchers from wanting to head back home. It is always a spectacular thing to see these animals with their beautiful white rounded head.
Our morning tour was a wonderful tour once again.
