Tiny Sperm Whales and leaping Dolphins!

We sighted a family of about 6 or 7 Sperm Whales, first travelling a little bit, then soializing and then diving with two of them giving us the chance to see their beautiful flukes!

This group had 2 babies. One of them a newborn! Their birth size is about 4 meters and their weight is around 1 ton.

In the picture bellow we can see this newborn swimming next to it’s mother.

Or could be another female of the group taking care of it,  since the females are known to “babysit” each others babies, while the mother is diving.

Also on this tour, we sighted the very acrobatic Striped Dolphins and the always friendly Common Dolphins.

After lunch it was time for a wonderful encounter with Striped Dolphins! These small, acrobatic dolphins were feeling quite playful leaping right next to the boat and even splashing some water inside the boat 😀

The tour also included an adorable group of Common Dolphins with at least 3 newborn dolphins that looked like had been born in the last week, and another relaxed group of Common Dolphins with some Striped dolphin intruders!

Stay tuned for more updates on our tours! 🙂
