Hello everyone!

What a beautiful morning that we had today!!

We started with the Sperm Whales (Physeter macrocephalus). When we arrived we put the hydrophone on the water and we knew that we had more than one Sperm Whale in the area so we just needed to wait. A few minutes later we sighted the the first whale…it was young one, and then 2 more joined to the surface. After some time with them we could see a tail…sign of a deep dive.

Then we had an encounter with the Atlantic Spotted Dolphins (Stenella frontalis). This group was very interesting because it had big adults with almost no spots on the body, very similar to the Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) but they were spotted. Then was time for the hydrophone… and it was MAGIC!!! So many different sounds at the same time, and guess what?? We recorded so you could hear as well.

I hope you had enjoyed, see you at Terra Azul!
