A few months ago was released a news about microplastics found in human stools.

The 8 volunteers that were chosen kept a food diary during one week. What was interesting is that not all of the volunteers ate sea food –  only six, which means that the problem doesn’t come only from the microplastics in the sea but also our daily eating habits. The food wrapped in plastic will also be contaminated.

One of the solutions that we have is trying to REDUCE plastic use instead of recycle it!

  • In the supermarkets we can avoid buying for example fruit and vegetables wrapped in plastic.
  • If you have the chance, you can use the bulk stores and use your own containers.
  • You can have your own bottle to drink your water or tea (without the bag, because it’s also made of plastic).
  • Make your own meals for school/work in glass containers.

These are only some things you can do for your eating habits and can help the planet…if you try to reduce plastic in others aspects it will help a lot more 🙂 !
